We've been happy regulars since their previous location (at The Gardener's Kitchen) and have been coming to The Retreat since it opened. The food is always good, and service is friendly. It's nice to also be able to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables and some local crafts items in the shop too.

Picturesque renovated church with lovely high, vaulted ceilings and stain glass windows. Delicious veggie and normal breakfast (stopped at 11:30) and a cute shop with cards, oddities and fragrances. Will definitely go back.

We went to The Retreat this weekend to see 'The long way home'. We were served a delicious Greek meal before the amazing performance, with dessert served in the interval. A thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon in a wonderful setting!

We pit stopped here during a lovely walk along the canal. The food was delicious. I enjoyed a yummy goats cheese tart and a cinnamon roll. Service was warm and friendly. Loved all the local produce, arts crafts and locally written books on sale. Toilet and changing facilities were clean all accessible. Highly recommend stopping here. They also do events, looking forward to going to some soon.

Fabulous converted church into a café and farm shop- focusing on good food and environmentally friendly products. Delicious cakes and so convenient for a stop off if you’re cruising the canal! So friendly too!
